Ganid

In the Urantia Book, Ganid is a young man from India who becomes a significant character during the “Life and Teachings of Jesus” section. He is the son of a wealthy Indian merchant named Gonod. Ganid meets Jesus during Jesus’ Mediterranean tour, a period in Jesus’ life that is not covered in traditional Christian scriptures. During this time, Jesus is travelling incognito, referred to in the book as the “Mediterranean journey,” and he serves as a tutor to Ganid.

Ganid and his father spend nearly two years travelling with Jesus, learning from his teachings and benefiting from his wisdom. Ganid is depicted as an eager and bright student who develops a deep admiration for Jesus and his teachings. The interactions between Ganid, his father, and Jesus are used to highlight various philosophical and spiritual discussions within the narrative.

This part of the Urantia Book aims to elaborate on Jesus’ life and the impact he had on those he encountered during his so-called “missing years,” providing a detailed account of these interactions.
